Ray Roman 20RM Deadlift Attempt at 255lbs

by Ray Roman in , , ,

This is my 20 rep max attempt for the challenge Noah Ohlsen @nohlsen put on Instagram (3/23/15) for the heaviest 20RM deadlift. After warming up and getting close to a one-rep max, I went back down to 255lbs., an amount I thought I might be able to get 20 reps out of but I fell short at 14. I gave it another shot but unfortunately got 6 reps on my second try! This was a fun challenge though because it so happened to be on a day I was deadlifting!

Ray Roman "Rage the Night Away" (11/30/14 Split Jerk PR)

by Ray Roman in , , ,

Attempting to split jerk 225lbs for the first time. When performing the clean I need to work on getting under the bar more and do less pulling with my arms. I felt like I was almost able to get the bar up into the split jerk position but fell short on my attempts.

Ray Roman - Thruster WOD (10/23/14)

by Ray Roman in , , ,

This WOD was inspired by Pat Barber and Wes Piatt from a video of their workout posted on CrossFit.com | Checkout that video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiyrDMhszUc

Below is the instructions for the WOD:

With a continuously running clock complete 5 thrusters every minute.

From 0:00-5:00 use 75lbs.
From 5:00-10:00 use 95lbs.
From 10:00-15:00 use 115lbs.

Continue adding 20lbs. every 5 minutes for as long as you are able.

I completed 75 total thrusters in 15 minutes. This was fun, I look forward to doing it again in the future!
